The Burj Khalifa is currently the tallest building in the world, standing at no fewer than 2,722 feet and located in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates. World champion BASE jumpers Vince Reffet and Fred Fugen thought it would be a good idea to jump off the structure and film the event in 4K.
I can’t disagree with them, as the video they released that chronicles the event is absolutely incredible. Filmed in 4K, the new standard of ultra-high definition video, the short clip allows the viewer to see every aspect of the jump. The weather is seemingly perfect, and as if they aren’t clear enough, both daredevils draw the viewers eye with bright yellow suits and smoke canisters strapped to their feet that leave billowing trails of red smoke to document their path.
Naturally, there was no lack of cameras filming the jump, and the video compiles footage from cameras worn by an aerial film crew, the jumpers themselves, and even a third jumper and dedicated camera man for shots closer to the action.
You can check out the video below, and if your computer is up to it, be sure to stream the video in 4K to really have your jaw drop.
