Battlefield 4 gameplay for the newest instalment in the Battlefied genre of PS3, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PS4! Battlefield 4 gameplay will help adapt you to everything new with Battlefield 4. This is one of the best Battlefield’s in the series, as it continues with its large-scale, ultra realistic first person shooter action. Check out this article for an explanation of some of the new features and gameplay that will be apart of Battlefield 4.
Battlefield 4 Single-Player Campaign
Single-player missions in Battlefield 4 will be much larger in scale when compared to Battlefield 3 and more in line with the series’ multiplayer maps and gameplay. This is due to negative receptions of BF3’s single-player campaign, which was criticized as being too linear. For the Battlefield 4 single-player campaign, DICE has promised a return of the mini-sandbox style of gameplay that is the series’ hallmark.
Players will also be able to command their AI allies with greater control in Battlefield 4’s single-player missions. Players can designate targets to eliminate, or areas to cover in suppressed fire, and their AI teammates will follow suit. This allows players greater control over missions as well as more ways to achieve success within a mission.
Battlefield 4 Multiplayer Gameplay
Returning to multiplayer matches in Battlefield 4 is the Commander Mode last seen in Battlefield 2. The Commander on both sides will view each match from map perspective, with units and resources marked and streaming on the map’s interface. POV can be switched to view from Team Leader’s eyes as well, and actions can only be taken if it falls within a teammates line of sight.
Commanders in Battlefield 4 matches will be able to call in various events such as gunships, ammo and vehicle drops, and cruise missile strikes. The Commander is also charged with keeping objectives in line and managing troop movements.
New to Battlefield 4’s multiplayer maps is Levolution. Levolution describes the various ways in which players can interact with multiplayer maps to shape the geography and affect gameplay. These elements range from small to large enough to change an entire map’s layout.
Some additional changes to gameplay in Battlefield 4 in general include the ability to peek over cover, the use of dual scopes on weapons, the use of sidearms while underwater, and the ability to counter melee attacks in standing and crouching positions.
