Last night’s broadcast of a RTÉ Prime Time programme featured new evidence that the British government under Margaret Thatcher colluded with loyalist paramilitaries between the 1970s to early 2000s. These cases involved hundreds of killings in Northern Ireland including the murder of Irish human rights lawyer Pat Finucane.

For example, “It covered cases such as the Dublin-Monaghan bombings, which claimed 34 lives, the 1989 murder of Belfast solicitor Pat Finucane, the “Glennane Gang”, operating in Mid-Ulster during the 1970s, and the Mount Vernon UVF gang which was allegedly involved in numerous killings from the 1990s.”

The Pat Finucane Centre and the Justice for the Forgotten group, a Northern Ireland victims’ group and human rights organization, have called for the British government to face up to its responsibilities and address past wrongs.

Witness, Ruby Evans, gives a priceless car chase recap!

The distraught witness, Ruby Evans, saw a ‘horrible, tragic, situation’. The car chase in Missippi began when a police officer tried to pull over a car for a traffic stop. According to Evans, the man said ‘No, not today and they began to race behind each other like cats and dogs.’
